You can easily use either bean bag balls or standard pillow stuffing, however it will serve as a sturdier seat or footstool if the filling is firmer than the usual polyester stuff. Try rags instead – old sheets, old towels, old clothes – they are plentiful, non expensive and eco-friendly, and packed tightly are very firm and solid giving the pouffe a lovely shape.
